Stockbury is a public-spirited village, with a community-owned pub and orchard. It also has a farm shop and cricket team.
The village hall was built in 1959 in honour of the villagers who fell serving their country in the two world wars. It was built in addition to the war memorial in St Mary Magdalene’s church, which is a third of a mile outside the village, and next to an 11-16th century motte and bailey castle ruin.
The village hall is located in the centre of the village and is easily reached from the A249.
The hall is well decorated, has a stage, a fully equipped kitchen, a bar area and tables and chairs for up to 100 people.
There is a separate committee room available to hire for meetings of up to 15 people.
Table tennis and other games equipment are available. There is also a piano.
Disabled access to the hall and toilet is via the main entrance.
Outside, there is a children's playground and large field with a cricket pitch and practice nets. The field can be booked for caravan clubs.
Car parking is available at the front and rear for up to 50 cars.
A £500 refundable deposit against damages is required
